What Is Corrugated Medium Paper
- Dec 03, 2018 -

Corrugated paper is one of the important components of corrugated board. Corrugated paper requires good fiber bonding strength, flat paper surface, good tightness and stiffness, and requires a certain degree of elasticity to ensure the carton is shock and pressure resistant.

In addition, the moisture index should be controlled, the moisture is too small, the paper is brittle, and the corrugation will be broken when it is processed; if the moisture is too large, the paper is soft, which will cause difficulties in processing and forming. Generally, the water content of paper should be controlled at about 10%. Domestic corrugated paper is divided into four grades: A, B, C and D.

Also known as corrugated core paper. It is the raw material paper used to form the corrugated core of corrugated cardboard. It is processed by a corrugating machine and corrugated paper is corrugated by a corrugating roller heated to 160-180 °C. There are web and flat paper. The basis weight is 112 to 200 g/m2. The fibrous tissue is uniform. The paper web has the same thickness. The color is bright yellow. Have a certain thickness. It has high stiffness, ring strength and water absorption, and excellent fit. The natural hardwood semi-chemical pulp, the cold alkali pulp or the natural alkali straw pulp or the waste pulp is used, and after being beaten in a free form, it is sent to a rotary multi-cylinder paper machine for papermaking. It is mainly used as the corrugated core layer (middle layer) of corrugated board, which plays an important role in the anti-shock performance of corrugated board. It can also be used as a packaging paper for fragile items.

There is a jargon in the paper industry: seven-point pulping three-point papermaking. The importance of slurry quality can be seen. The pulping process is also the key quality control point of papermaking. The quality of the pulp determines the quality of the paper.
